I’m admitted for the Fall of 2011. I placed my major as Biomedical Engineering, but recently heard that you’re not credited for that. So I want to change my major, but I don’t know which one. I have Biochemical Engineering, Biological Systems Engineering, and Biotechnology to choose from. Also, is there any way I can change my major now? :/

** I want to become a pharmacist if I don’t doing anything “major”, you know?

… why can’t they just have bioengineering like other UCs -__-…

I don’t think you can change your major until January 2012. Basically you have to keep your major for two quarters/one semester before you are able to change majors.

The first 2 years of college, everyone is takes GE required courses… you’ll be fine haha you have lots of time to change/choose majors.

You have to take at least one semester before you can change your major. It’s not hard if you change with-in your College (Engineering, etc.) You should ask your UC Davis counselor… not this forum. Once you have accepted, you have a Counselor you can talk to.

The biomedical engineering department is actually seeking accreditation for the 2012 year so you might get lucky.

I myself don’t really understand the difference between the biomedical and biological systems engineering majors; beyond the obvious reasons of course. It seems that the biomedical engineering department has a lot more options within the field as opposed to the BSE degrees. At least that’s what it looks like to me.

You have to wait until winter quarter before you can change your major.
