Heyy
I was wondering about chances @
University of Delaware
Penn State

UMass
Indiana University
Uconn
UMD
UNC
Boston University
Boston College

GPA: unweighted= 3.7 weighted: 4.1
Class Rank= 45/270

-national honor society
-High honors
-XC (7-12)
-Track (7-10 & 12)

Junior Classes:

Senior year i will be taking 3 classes for the "Young Scholars" progam at our school at some of the local colleges, also i will be in Spanish AP

PSAT Scores :1580 (so low i know)

Im taking the SATs soon and am also going to take and SAT class...im not a great test taker though.....anyway i would like to major in International Relations and plan on taking 2 subject tests before i apply.

you should get in to most of them but

BU UMD and and delaware are a match, not guaranteed

then BC is a reach

UNC is a big reach

depends on which state you are a resident

omniscient1 im a resident of Pennsylvania

I've been out of high school for a while now....is your psat of 1580 out of 2400 or 1600?

2400 usually

As a PA resident, you're a likely shot at PSU. I know some people less qualified than you are who got into PSU in-state.

You're SATs will hurt you a lot, but I know at least one slightly under 1000 (out of 1600) SAT person who got in with really good grades but nothing outstanding about her.

mnm619 those scores above are my PSAT scores not my SAT so i have room for improvment...
can any one else tell me about which ones are matches for me?

match?saftey?reach?

bumpbumpbump

bumpbumpbump

If you bring your SAT scores up to say between....1800 to 2000...I think you're in at:

UConn
Delaware
Pitt
Penn State

You will have trouble, though, with the last four schools on your list. If you can do awesome on your SAT's, then I say you have a 90% chance of getting into them.

Also....take UMass and Indiana off your list.....you're too good for them!

Thanx for the reply omniscient1

happy new year...bump

what's ur major tho? it all depends, but for UMD I'm telling u, they are crazy. U have exactly same GPA as mine (weighted & unweighted) I applied 4 years ago and they rejected me, not even waitlist, could be because of my low SAT score. Now they accepted me for grad school (because they know they made a mistake 4 years ago).

chaoses
my intended major is international relations....does that help?

I think it's under the business school? business school is part of the 9 restricted schools you need certain scores to get in at UMD. They might accept you to the university but not the school yet after like 1,2 semester.

Can anyone make me a list and tell me which ones are matches safties, reaches etc....and also more suggestions? im looking for a school with 15,000-20,000 kids (maybe i few more or less)

about Indiana University...
admittance is only based on GPA and test scores
however, they will look @ other things if you appeal, i think

hmmm thanks andyk.....ne one else with matches, safteys, reaches, advice etc...?
