My math headache.

Hello everyone. I'm posting this because I have some serious doubts about my college future.

My problem is math, it owns me, it haunts me and it confuses the HELL out of me. Now, i'm in junior college right now and i've barely worked my way up and figure, I can probably pass College Algebra, but barely lol.

I'm much better at other things, even subjects that involve some math aren't any sort of a pain to me, such as Economics. So, I feel my grades and work in other subjects justify that I mayb be able to handle a real college without running into too much trouble.

Anyway, I think my transfer would be ok, but, when I go to any other school, after a transfer, is there a whole new set of math classes that need to be passed, or once I transfer i'm done, and only set to work on my Post general ed classes, such as just my major courses?

My major will probably be Sociology. Not like my major is an Engineer or something.

I really want to go to USC or UCSD, my grades are up there, but my math is currently dragging me down. I'm passing my math classes (math 15, 56, currently in 60) with c's to be honest. But they aren't transferable, so they aren't really affecting me.

For my major, to transfer, math doesn't need to be more then college Algebra or I believe Math 120. I'm just worried about after I transfer, I don't see myself passing math after that, honestly. It just doesn't stick.

Anyone know if I'm screwed, or if once I transfer, i'm done?

It will depend on the college you transfer to. It sounds like you would be happier if you applied to schools that didn’t have a math class as a requirement.

At USC “You are expected to have earned strong grades in at least three years of mathematics in high school, including Advanced Algebra, or Intermediate Algebra at the college level.” from here: http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/1011/TransferPlanningWorksheet_2010.pdf

I guess i’m just worried about transfering with my major and then finding out that my math after I transfer, is only half way finished.

Any sociology majors out there that are seeking to attend USC, or a UC school, by chance?
