My math score... gr...

So today i took the second of my 4 hour timed practice tests (first one was diagnostic). My math scored improve by a whopping 0 points. I studied a lot, and did a lot of math sections timed, and each time i got 0-1 wrong. Doing the math, that should be a 700-780, but i got yet another 620-680. I'm not bad at math, i just don't see how i could score so low when i've been consistantly scoring high. All my other sections got significant score boosts, idk what happened ;___________;

/end rant

You want to know what happened? This is what happened : You made a couple of mistakes of the math sections, so find those mistakes, fix them, and stop crying. You can’t expect to get every question right on a test simply because you aced a couple of practice questions.

If somebody is scoring a 2400 consistently-which isn’t probable but this is just a hypothetical situation- but one day drops to a 2300, hes not going to B*** about it. I know its hard to accept the fact that your imperfect, but its part of being a human being and it happens top the best of us. The U.S basketball team got abused twice in major competitions after winning every event for the… well, ever since basketball was introduced as an official sport.

practicing for math in small timed sections individually is prob. going to feel different than taking the math sections as part of the whole test. not saying that practicing in small sections is bad, but if you get more used to having them as part of a four hour test it might help.

Thanks for the support!

it’s never easy with you, is it, Quix :P

some advice given here is truely dramatic…well i’d say i’m in the same situation as you basically. but don’t give up, those 2400ers practiced and reviewed da ones they got wrong too..do the same.

Actually, I know this kid that got a 2260 on his first try. He ran on 4 hours of sleep and a hangover from the previous night.

But for the normal people (like you and I), it takes practice. I’d have to say that I’m a pretty strong math oriented person, but that doesn’t mean I would get an 800. I usually miss 2 or 3 questions, mostly because of misreading it/not answering it completely. My only advice is too practice, practice, practice.

I’m still decently happy with my score even with the terrible math score though, my range according to the BB scale was 1960-2190. A bit more practice, and maybe i’ll be able to superscore a 2300 :stuck_out_tongue:

i can dream can’t i?

No you can’t, dreaming is against CB rules.
