My nipples hurt

I'm not even joking. I started running and all of a sudden, my nipples started hurting. Is there something wrong with me?

lmao

10chars

Maybe it's just the muscle that's there that you are somehow using when you run? I have no idea

My pectorals don't hurt though. I was thinking that my nipples could be sunburned, but at times, they would stop hurting. Earlier today, for example, they didn't hurt at all, but I noticed that people looked at my chest area more than usual. When I looked in the mirror, I noticed that my nipples, especially the left one, were erect (I think only the left one was obviously erect though). My nipples aren't usually this sensitive, so I'm confused. As I type this now, my nipples are piercing through my shirt, and they kinda hurt (maybe this happens when I'm conscious of them touching my shirt?).

Ahhhh I imagine that hurting, a lot! Did you try looking it up online? I have no answers for you... Sorry. I hope they feel better haha

When i used to run cross country, my shirt would get sweaty/salty and when i moved forward it would press up against the nipple and sting a bit.

lmao...thats hilarious and I'm sorry....a botched boob job?

it happens because of friction caused by the shirt and your nipples, put band-aids on them when u run, no joke

Is it chafing? If your shirt was baggy and rubbed against them then it could be that. Its common with runners that wear baggy shirts, which is why many wear tight clothing.

oh gah i thought this was a girl posting at first! i hope your nipple feels better

This is a common ailment that runners face. Many call it "runner's nipple." The best solution is to run without a shirt. Barring that, you can put tape or bandaids over your nipples. If not, many put Vaseline over their nipples.

There are products out there specifically for this issue, but they're expensive and probably only useful for really long distance runs (marathons and longer).

lol yea, i ran a half-marathon a month ago and had the same problem...my nipples hurt for DAYS afterward

now i use nipguards <<< lolol im not joking

Dude, get a pastie

And as long as your not lactating i wouldn't worry about it

HAHAHA......HILARIOUS! LOL.......thanx for the laugh.:)

oh, and ps: gross!

It's actually...not that funny.

Anyone who's experienced this knows that bleeding nipples is quite possibly one of the least fun things in the world.

Though I do suppose that NipGuards are kind of like pasties...hmm...

O_O at the image ^^^

Thanks for informing me, everyone. I will start wearing bandaids/NipGuards, or better yet, run shirtless. The tight-fitting runner's outfits are nice but aren't they expensive?

I used vaseline when I was running cross country. Worked like a charm.

Mr Payne,

Were you wearing cotton or nylon? I tried Vaseline with cotton, and didn't get much out of it...

 .

UCLAri, this was actually with the jersey we wore for meets. Generally I didn't have a problem with t-shirts.
