my official test scores yipeee

(don't think i've posted these before)

are these test scores fine for engineering @princeton?

SATI: 740 math, 750 cr, 800 w= 2290
SATII: 720 physics, 760 us hist, 800 mathII= 2280

AP scores:
world hist=3
physics b=5
psychology=5
calculus ab=5
english language=5
us history=5

(asian female from an underrep state)

So-so. You still have a shot.

Related question: Can test scores ever be an asset rather than just a qualifier? If so, at what point?

At Princeton, probably just a qualifier.

interesting…

Applicants with all 800s or 770s to 800s, and all 5s are rather common and many of them will be waitlisted or rejected. Despite that, its better to have them than to not.

Engineers are safest with 770 to 800s and 5s in any maths or sciences they take. Engineering ECs are important, as there are many opportunities for competitions – science fairs, etc…

It’s said that at the top schools, test scores can only hurt you.
