if you have a 35 ACT and your 4.0 then you are gonna get into Penn. I would say that you have a shot at Stanford, Caltech, MIT, Chicago, Columbia, Duke, Cornell. so you should apply there as well

chance back please!!

Penn is a low reach for you, but its and ivy so anything can happen. For HYP, I wouldnt set your hopes too high because many people get rejected for no reason at all. I’ve known kids with almost the same stats who have gotten rejected or deferred. The last two listed are safeties, The first of the last two might be a low match. Northwestern legacy should be a match. UofChicago should be a match as long as your essay is perfect. This could just be people from my school/area, but i think you might have an unecessarily hard time getting into Columbia. Cornell, Duke, Brown, and Wustl are all low reaches. Brown might be a reach.

Thanks a lot you guys for making me feel a lot better about my chances! Hopefully I’ll have great essays/recs/interviews and hope the same for all you other applicants!

UPenn Ed: Match/high match
UChicago EA: match/high match. How are you liking those essays?
Columbia University: high match
Harvard/Yale/Princeton: mid reaches/maybe low reach for Princeton
Northwestern (Legacy):match
Cornell:match
Duke: low reach
Brown:mid reach
WashU in St. Louis: no idea, sorry

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1537561-chances-umass-amherst-quinnipiac-uconn.html

I think your ACT scores and GPA are already very good and you have solid EC’s. (They’re not pathetic, in my opinion :P) If you’re applying for financial aid, your chance would get lower at these schools. Ivy’s are a reach for everyone so I can’t guarantee you getting in, but as long as you tie all your aspects well in your application, I think you have a decent chance.

UPenn Ed: High match / Low reach
UChicago EA: High match / Low reach
Columbia University: Reach
Harvard/Yale/Princeton: Reach (for everyone)
Northwestern (Legacy): High match
Cornell: High Match
Duke: High match / Low reach
Brown: Reach
WashU in St. Louis: Match

University of Illinois Champaign: Low match
University of Illinois Chicago: Don’t know much

I really appreciate everyone taking their time and writing detailed responses! I feel I picked a strong set of schools that I just might get into haha

Wow you are one strong contender! I definitely think you have a great shot at Penn ED. I actually think you should even reach for Columbia and higher! Although keep in mind that the Ivies are extremely random, so you can never be too sure of anything ;)

Definately a match for UPENN

I think you have a great chance, probably a better chance than most early applicants. EC’s are phenomenal, grades are phenomenal. I see people with equivalent applications applying regular decision to be quite honest. I think it’ll be a great match, and you have a strong app. That being said, it is an ivy. It’s hard, insane people from all over the world will apply. There can be no guarantee. Just keep doing what you’re doing and hope for the best. Really work on the essay, since that can give you a slight boost, all that is needed, sometimes.

Wow Penn was just my dream school but maybe I can make that a reality! Thanks a lot CCers

Penn ED - match
Chicago EA - low reach
Columbia - reach
HYP - reach
NWern - match
Cornell - low reach (very unpredictable)
Duke - high match
Brown - low reach
WUSTL - high match
UI - safeties

I’m not an adcom, but I see no reason why Penn would deny you if you apply early decision. Make sure to apply to a couple low match/match schools just in case.

I think your good for all of them except HYP (admissions are always tricky there) and UChicago depends a lot on your essays too. Penn seems like a good place for you to ED because its not too big of a reach especially for CAS considering your gpa

ASIAN MALE!!!

UPenn Ed: Low Reach
UChicago EA: Reach
Columbia University: Reach
Harvard/Yale/Princeton: High Reach
Northwestern (Legacy): Solid Chances
Cornell: Solid Chances
Duke: Reach
Brown: Reach
WashU in St. Louis: Reach if you apply for FA

Do your best then pray!
You might get into Harvard or you might be rejected or waitlisted by all of them.

There is no such thing as “match” when admit rate is below 15%.

Hahah very true

UPenn Ed: reach
UChicago EA: reach
Columbia University: high reach
Harvard/Yale/Princeton: high reach
Northwestern (Legacy): high match
Cornell: reach/high reach
Duke: reach/high reach
Brown: high reach
WashU in St. Louis: reach

University of Illinois Champaign: safety
University of Illinois Chicago: low match/safety

UPenn Ed: You have a solid chance, though you can never be too sure because most of the other applicants are just like yourself so it’s pretty much always a crapshoot. However, I think the ED app will definitely help you boost your chances since UPenn takes in most of its class from its ED pool.

UChicago EA: Match

Columbia University: Reach (as it is for everyone else)

Harvard/Yale/Princeton: Reach

Northwestern (Legacy): Match

Cornell: Low reach

Duke: Low reach

Brown: Reach

WashU in St. Louis: Match

I don’t think your ECs are pathetic! And your scores are perfect! I think you got a good shot at the colleges on your list! Best of luck!!

Thanks everyone for the Chances! I really hope i get into Penn ED!

I think you have a great shot! Do you know what you want to write your main common app essay on?!
