My one problem with Emory is the fact that Emory is far away from the hub of Atlanta. There isn't much to do on campus. If you want to actually experience Atlanta, then you have to go far off campus. Since most freshman don't have cars, it can be hard to this. However, if you have a lot of upperclassmen friends, then this shouldn't be a problem. I just wanted to let all prospective applicatants know about this.

I remember that when my son was a freshman at Emory (he is a junior now), he and his friends would pile in to a taxi to go to midtown or bucktown or wherever.....have you tried that? It's a shame not to take advantage of all that Atlanta has to offer-

Have Fun!

You can take the #6 and #36 buses to the subway. If you take the #6 bus to the Lindbergh station, you can easily get to Lenox Mall, Phillips Plaza Mall, Perimeter Mall and Midtown. There is a lot of walking and the buses don't run often enough and the buses stop running at midnight; but I don't think anyone is trapped on campus. Even if you were right downtown, you would have to take transportation to get anywhere else, and there are disadvantages to being right downtown.

Anyone moving to Atlanta should get a car since it notoriously sprawls out more than any other metropolis in the country, even LA. For crying out loud, our suburbs have suburbs!
