My parents still dress me every morning. Is that wierd?

just kidding. But honestly, my parents freaked out when I told them I was going to wear khakis and a polo shirt to my interview on Monday. The thought of not wearing a button down shirt with a sweater over it was absolutely appalling to them. So a.) do you guys see anything wrong with a polo and khakis? and b.)what did you wear to your interview?

a) NO
b) well, i'm a girl so i don't know how much this will help you. anyway i wore a black tank top under a light pink cashmere vneck sweater, grey trouser-jean type pants tucked into and flat black suede knee high boots.

a polo shirt and khakis sound fine ...

Why not wear a shirt and tie? I do not belive you can "overdress" for an interview. Just my opinion.

My S wore a shirt and tie to his Georgetown interview. (He was accepted, but did not attend.)

I'd just feel a lot more comfortable wearing a polo than a shirt and tie. It's much more me.

that thread title really caught my attention lol

sure, i would wear a polo to an interview.. but again it depends on where you are, in cali i think it's acceptable, maybe not so if you're on the east coast...

i dont think it matters too much......i wore a button down shirt, no tie. I thought that was best for me..

but i don't think it matters too much, and long as you don't dress like an idiot, I'm sure youre fine

I wore jeans to almost all of my interviews

jeans and a dressy shirt-- the interviews were pretty casual

some of my interviews were ridiculously casual, both of us wore jeans and a t-shirt.

For something so important the laissez faire attitude is odd to me

If you can't put in a little effort- ie not tshirt and jeans - for something so importnat, why bother even going

you are adults and need to start thinking as such

It really depends on where you are meeting and the tone of the interview. For my interview we met at Panera so I dressed fairly casually. If you are interviewing at someone's office you might want to dress nicer but if its like mine and is at Panera or something like that, khakis and a polo would be fine.
