My parents tax form is 1040, and I have a question about one question in FAFSA.

So the question is like this "
How much did your father/stepfather earn from working (wages, salaries, tips, etc.) in 2011?
"

When I click on the question, a hint on the right says "For tax filers:
IRS Form 1040 – Use Lines: 7 + 12 + 18* + Box 14 [Code A] of IRS Schedule K-1 (Form 1065)
"

This scared me, because I could only fine out 7, 12 and I dont see 18* and the Box 14 from my parents tax form.

Im thinking if I missed something? I am so not sure but I just added up 7 and 12.

Can anyone help me out? Just tell me if I did anything wrong? Thank you!

Do you have his w-2 form?

Yes! He has it!

The lines refer to the lines on the 1040 tax form, NOT lines from the W-2. Line 7 is Wages, Line 12 is Business Income, Line 18 is farming income. The box 14 things refers to a business-related form if your dad happens to own a partnership or S-Corporation.
