My parents think I'm stupid because I did bad on the SAT

dont worry op
you are not alone

welcome to life kid.

tell them the new SAT is out of 2000.

You can not fool them. Many of asian parents have better ideas on what the maximum scores are on the standardized tests. If I am guessing right the kid’s parents are possibly chinese. They are very stubborn and ridiculously care about the scores. A lot of chinese parents concern too much about scores or what colleges their children go, to them their children represent their “faces”. Believe or not many of them were educated in the States with at least master degrees.

I think you should explore your computer skills and try to improve your score, but don’t worry too much about it. If you exel at something, then work on that particular thing. Most colleges are more unique skills and things that set you apart, as long as you have decent SAT scores.

how fast do you run right now starstruck?

Starstruck, I would like to challenge you to a one-on-one track competition only if I knew you physically. :/

Because I’m the fastest runner out of almost all the people in my Gym class.

sorry :frowning: you seem really smart so don’t take them too seriously. Maybe retake it if it would make you happy?

I am ranked 35 out of 618 at my school and usually get all A’s on my report card. I always felt like a nerd but got a 1460 on my SAT score. Does that make any of you guys feel better?

1950 isn’t terrible for a score. My friend got a 1990 and still managed to get admitted to MIT. With practice, I’m sure you can improve! Don’t let your parents’ comments get to you. Besides, it’s impossible for you to have done “bad”. It’s “badly”… :)

a 1950’s a pretty good score
