My D applied through Questbridge but was not selected through their program. However, she was eventually admitted (and attends) one of the schools she listed. She has received emails from her school specifically sent to Questbridge applicants, so even though that’s not how she was admitted, it’s obviously part of her record. It is possible it may have helped her in being admitted. No way of knowing, but just fyi.

Hi again, all!

I just wanted to thank everyone so much for the advice you’ve given me. I needed a reality check about where I was setting my sights, and I’m going to take that to heart and try to approach my college search more realistically; not necessarily giving up on landing a good school, but finding one that will be able to meet my needs better than some of the ones I was considering. I’ll definitely check out the schools that some of you have listed that might be good options and see how they look. But I’m grateful for the insights and experience that was offered to me-- I’m sorry if I came off sounding like a difficult to deal with kid. It wasn’t my intention at all, nor to do anything that would affect my parents badly. Here’s hoping that I can find a school that will work well for me!

Oh, on another note, I decided to pass up on Questbridge (or at least that’s how the decision rests at the moment - though I guess I could change my mind, if I wanted to make the mad-rush to get materials in on time). There are only a few partner schools on the list that I’m interested in, and for my stats it’s not very likely I’d get into most of them. Even with the ones that I COULD qualify for potentially, I don’t think I want to be bound to a particular school just yet. Hopefully that’s not being too picky - I still have a lot of thinking to do about what I want to pursue in college, and I think I need a bit more freedom of movement for changing plans in the future. I’m really grateful that I was able to learn about this, though. Instead, I may still apply to a few of the partner colleges Regular Decision, since the ones I do like seem to be generous with financial aid. That way I would have a choice if I should be accepted to any of them.

good luck carriewrites…you’ll find something you like!!! hope you have a wonderful college experience :)

Wish you all the best. :-)
