I've read and read, applicants are randomly selected for interviews and it normally won't help or hurt you, but I was just wondering..

I had my interview with an older alumni at a local coffee shop. It didn't feel like a normal interview as she basically asked the Why Penn question, then she said 'just tell me about yourself', and I talked then a conversation broke out.

A couple of times in the conversation she made some surprising comments like 'wow! really? you are the first person I have ever head say that!'

And at the end she just said 'well you seem like a very interesting person I'm going to enjoy writing up this report.'

So is there any chance it would help in this case?
