My Phone Rang During Ap Testing

Today I took my sixth ap test for government and politics. During my last 5 tests, I would bring my phone into the exam room but be sure to turn it off and place it in my backpack at the front of the room and everyone else did the same thing. Today I held down the power off button but didn’t confirm to shut the phone down. Later about 5 minutes into the mc section my phone rang and the proctor took my bag outside turned the phone off then brought it back inside. I wasn’t 100% sure it was my phone but continued the test and I am confident that I got a 5 on it. During the last few minutes of the frq section the proctor walked over to me and told me that she didn’t know how to turn the phone off (idk why you just hold down the power button) and just put it in emergency mode to stop all sounds and just wanted to give me a heads up and that the phone is in my bag. I apologized and explained the situation she didn’t mention anything about how I broke the rules or that she had to report me or anything. She probablt identified me because it says my name on the home screen. She also didn’t collect any of my materials then, they got collected with everyone else’s stuff normally. I know I made a stupid mistake and trust me it’s not like me at all but what are the chances that my score gets canceled?

For what it’s worth, it’s NOT our job as teachers and proctors to know how to use your phone. It’s your job to ensure that it’s off. And the time she was out of the room, getting your phone out of your bag and trying to figure it out jeopardized the test security of everyone in that room.

You owe her a huge thank you.

It sounds as though she’s not going to report it, and that your paper will probably be graded; otherwise I imagine she would have taken action right away.
