My phone went off in class, should I drop the class?

I forgot to turn off my phone (I'm not making excuses, it was completely my fault), and it rang in my first college class ever. I turned it off quickly and apologized. The professor nodded and said "okay" but looked kind of ****ed off. I am now feeling really guilty and terrified that he will hate me forever and grade me badly on my tests and stuff. Should I just go ahead and drop the class?

Grow up. Really.

really? seriously? You should drop the class! Professors hate it when phone ring and you will fail 100%. GUARANTEED!!! . DO IT NOW. before its too late. before your phone rings again

I can’t believe people actually call you. It was your mom wasn’t it?

I actually laughed just reading the title.

I can sort of understand, if you were really nervous/excited since it IS your very first day in college. However, I must say, that is pretty pathetic. You wouldn’t quit a job if your phone rang in your first meeting or something…

Keep the class, but remember to keep your phone on vibrate or silent, or just turned off. Don’t let that incident happen again.

It happens eventually to almost everyone. Just try not to have it happen again.

Mine went off during a test.

Don’t drop the class, as long as it doesn’t happen again the prof will probably forget about it anyway.

iguana, please, these threads are making me go insane…

on the tiny chance you’re serious… i agree with modestmelody

Drop it. The risk of detrimentally affecting your GPA due to this entirely significant event simply is not worth it.

One time a professor caught me looking out the window during a lecture…needless to say I dropped the class.

The mature thing to was to apologize to the prof immediately after the incident.
“Hi Prof___ , I want to apologize for not turning off my phone. It was disrespectful and won’t happen again. My name is ___ and I am looking forward to your class this semester. So again apologies.”
Too late…

One time I sneezed. The professor glared at me, kind of like Snape does to Potter. I dropped the class the very dame day.

Good luck OP.

If you do what #14 suggests you’ll look like a tool. Just get on with the class, the professor will forget in a week.

absolutely.

Good job, ■■■■■. You win.

Yeah I’m pretty sure this guy isn’t serious too.

hahahahahahahaha

omg that video was hysterical. hahahaha.
