My physics test score?? Retake or not?

i got a 760 too, i'm wondering should i retake ?? i'm gonna take AP next year but i will be a senior -_-

yah. same here satsux...anybody plz answer??

I'm at 750, and people urged me not to retake because I have high scores elsewhere and good grades in the class/AP scores. Despite that, I am considering retaking because I had to get a LOT wrong to get 750, and I took it cold (did not do any optics, waves, nuclear, thermodynamics, etc. this year, if at all in my life ever).

for those who got under a 750, consider retaking if you're weak in your other areas of your app.

for those over 750, your scores are good enough. your life is too important to waste on subject tests.

my sat I score is 2340, which im rather proud of...
but sat IIs are : maths IIC 790, chem 780 (after a failed attempt which resulted in 710), and phy 730.

want to major in engineering tho, but not sure cuz of the reasoning score

wat do u guys reckon?

wow, sang10518. Ur SAT 1 score is really good...I got 2160, 750 USH, and 760 physics...bleh..those scores look crappy compared to urs...-_-.

do colleges get our percentile score? or do they bother to check ?

they probably do see our percentile...-_-...how important is the percentile?

A 760 is perfectly fine, you said you took AP Physics B this year just get a 5 on the AP exam and it will show that you know your stuff, otherwise they will begin to wonder whether your really about the learning or the scores since when you retake you can get a max 40 point increase. Go do some amazing research.

lol..The Anomaly's advice makes most sense and is really helpful..ok, thanks guys!

i also heard that 750 + is amazing
so i think the score's good!

awww...but how will MIT, caltech, HYPS look at 760 in physics??? Don't they expect something higher than that?

that's true the other rule i heard is 780 + but the 750 baseline is still really good
i mean especially if you're applying to MIT or Caltech you might try to get in the 780 range but 760 is still a very good score!

well...i don't think i have the time to retake physics..b/c i have 2 other SAT 2s to take : Math 2 and Lit.. in oct and nov..
but if i got a 5 on my physics b exam and an A in that class...will that help my bleh SAT 2 score when it comes to those schools?

you can take 3 SAT IIs in one day

taking 3 SATs in one day is hard
i was really tired after 2.. -.- i guess i have no stamina/endurance lol

yah..i can't take that much in one day...i'll rather spread out the work than do it in all one day...

I got a 700 on my physics test and let me just say I am not proud. I must have missed so many questions to get that low. It seems that if I want to go to a top tier UC, such as LA or Berkeley, I pretty much should retake it. What do you guys think, retake if i want to major in engineering(the other parts of my app are not peculiarly strong)?

so if i'm applying to caltech, and i got 800 math II, 780 chem, 710 physics, will the 800 and 780 make up for the physics? (hadn't had any AP classes in science at all, taking AP chem and physics next year)

ahh man

did anyone here take the AP Physics and check their scores?

i got 5 in Phy B, 5 in CM, and 4 in EM

all because i solved Gauss' Law for a cylinder using an equation for a sphere...if i got that right, im sure i woulve gotten that 5 lol

still...730 is a retake right??? especially if engineering's my major?
