Okay, I know this is pretty sketchy, but I'm desperate and this idea just occurred to me. Because of timing issues as far as applying, I had reluctantly ruled out any UC school as a possibility because I couldn't wait for another year. But then I came up with this crazy plan of mine. Here's the deal:

Right now, I am not competitive for admission (UC Berkeley), mostly because of screwing up my first year at CC. However, due to fixing those past mistakes and working to my potential (finally), after next spring I should be very competitive for admission.

So here's the plan:

I apply to Berkeley for next fall. Then wait until I'm rejected at the end of April and appeal with two more semesters' worth of grades. I guess it's pretty simple, actually.

But there are some areas I'm a little sketchy on. How soon after the admissions decisions are posted do you have to appeal? I want to draw it out as long as possible so I have enough time to get the grades from spring, and I figure the longer I wait the better idea they'll have of how many students will be attending. I hope to be able to do it a couple of weeks before you have to file the statement of intent to register thing.

Even if this is a long shot I'm willing to try it. Am I crazy?
