My Practice Tests are Freakng Me Out!!!!

Critical Reading: got 3 wrong
Math: got 2 wrong.

Now while these may seem good at first, the Bluebook [which I took the test from] says for CR the range is from 700 to 800, and the math it's 720 to 800.

What a useless scale! Basically it says I can get anywhere from complete crap [I'm retesting - 700 CR and 720 M are the scores i got last time] to getting a perfect 1600.

Basically, I hate the bluebook. At least give me a score so I can know where I stand!

there is 1 score that you can get regardless of the type of curve/range provided...

Based on "released" SAT exams that provide the actual curve for specific tests, I usually followed a curve like this for my practice tests:

Math
54 = 800
53 = 780
52 = 760
51 = 740

CR
67 = 800
66 = 800
65 = 800
64 = 780 usually, 790/800 if lucky
63 = goes down by 10 or 20 pts each time...

If you're aiming for a 1600 (which you should be, since clearly you are very very close), plan to NOT MISS A SINGLE ONE on math (only 2 out of the 19 QAS I checked had 800 as -1), and plan to MISS AT MOST 2 on critical reading (out of the 19 tests I checked, only 3 had an 800 with a 64 raw score).

Of course, not missing any is better! :)

... those scores freak you out?

i've been having teh same problem with the blue book
right now i'm just taking the lowest score out of the range they give.. and using it.. which is crap
but at least it motivates me to do better

3 wrong on CR=-3.75=-4 which comes to a 790, and on some tests an 800
2 wrong on Math=-2.5, which I can't remember if that rounds off to -3 or -2, but that's a 760. Why should you be worried with a 1560?

Wow really? The Blue Book said that -3 on the CR section could go down to 700, and that -3 on the Math section could go down to 720.

I hope the curve on the March SAT I is good. I was scared because those number of wrongs in the BB said there was a remote chance that even though I got less wrong I would get the same scores, and that would hav sucked. Last SAT I got M+CR 1410, but that was with no prep. since I was just testing it out back in November.

I'm so nervous for it. I hope I can pull off 1500+ on the actual :(

I actually took the test several times, the first time got 4 wrong with a 710, second time I got 2 wrong and got a 760, and when my friend took it he got 1 wrong and a 780.
