<p>^ commended is national, not done by state like semifinalists. The cutoff for the past couple of years for commended has been 200, so you should be set ;)</p>

Last year, DS got a 201 and was commended (we are in Ohio.) But, he just barely made it, so I think the cut off was 199, 200 or 201. It was about the same the year before, maybe one point different. So, you have a great shot, but you never can tell from year to year because it depends on the number of kids taking the test and how well they do. Good luck, though; I hope you make it.</p>

<p>curiousboy: for the 2008 oct psat, the cutoff for 99 percentile was 212. i got a 212 in missouri, but i dont know if that is high enough for nat merit semi.</p>

<p>My friend and I got 212, and 211 (respectively) and both scored 98% (Nationally), my other friend got 214 and got the 99. So i'm assuming it's either 213 or 214</p>
