My rank sucks because I messed up really bad freshman year, could I still get into UT Austin or UCLA

Hey so I’m a junior in HS and I go to a really compedetive school. I didn’t really care in freshman year so I got really bad grades and ended up rank 180/200 I had like an 85 gpa, shocked by this, in sophomore year I took rather easy classes(3 pre-ap) and brought my rank up to 130 and my gpa up to 90… In junior year I took crazy hard classes(5 AP) and I’m doing rather well in them, my gpa is now at a 94 and my rank should come up to around 80/90. I only took the PSAT and got a 192 and I’m hoping to get a 2100 on the SAT(I’m taking all these sat classes and on my practice tests I get around 2000) I started browsing all the colleges I want to go to such as UT Austin, UCLA, UC Berkeley and Carnegie Mellon and they all say that I have the SAT scores to get in but they only pick from the top ten percentile and I’m nowhere close. If you disclude my freshman year grades, I would make the top ten percentile easily but they are really holding me down. Should I even consiter applying or should I just give up?

Please excuse my spelling and grammer I wrote this on my phone!

Do u live in Texas or CA? Can your family afford OOS tuition at UT or UCLA?

The UC’s dont use freshmen year in their admissions critera

Also, depending on whice state you live in and the school of major you applied for UT Austin, I can provide your chances! I go to a competitive high school in Texas with around 240 total students in my class and I’ve gotten accepted into the school of science at UTA with a GPA of 3.6/4.0 and a 2200 SAT.

So tell which major you applied for and which state you live in, and I’ll chance you from there!

I live in texas and i intend to go into computer engineering

We can afford it.
