no, because its a requirement of the school. If you dont meet the requirement then you cant be considered.

A specific score for any school is not a requirement, they may hae an avg, but its not a requirement.

Right, but you might find that exceptions may be made.

Then again maybe not. Either way, chalk it up as experience.

who wants a doctor who can't find ways to beat the system? be creative..where there's a will, there's a way

Maybe the program is simply letting in people who know how to spell. Anyone as smart as you claim to be ought to be able to write in proper english.

Also, as mayn other posters have pointed out, this is not excluding you from medical school. It is excluding you from one program. I think there are programs that all of us have been excluded from, due to financial considerations or family concerns or circumstances beyond our control. Be grateful for the great education you have received and consider this an opprotunity to apply to other programs which may end up being a better fit for you.

What is that saying about people living in glass houses? :p

thank you UCLAri, you missed "mayn" though

and its the principle of the idea that im upset about, its not the program itself. I just feel it limits many intelligent students from applying and they lose out on many highly qualified applicants who are from competitive schools like mine.

again mr. highly qualified...if there's a will there's a way and a good doctor should be willing to find the way.

Im not a doctor, nor is anyone else applying to this program. So please stop referring to me as a doctor who doesnt know things.

This post isnt about me, its about all the other people in this nation who cant apply to programs like the one i described because they are in a competitive district.

You think there is always a way to beat the system. Keep thinking that. You may end up in jail one day with that attitude.

Well... he's right in a way. There is almost always a moral and legal way to beat the system (basically, you make the system bend over for you.)

There are always exceptions to rules, but the question is whether or not those exceptions are moral. If they're not, then avoid them (I think.)

They dont make exceptions with this program, and they usually dont with these kind of programs anyway. So i dont even consider it an option.

well if that's your attitude dr. doogie, im sorry you don't have enough drive to get what you want. you know when you have the sickly guy with some terminal disease who all the medical textbooks say will surely die soon, im sure he'll appreciate that you can't work to try and make him an exception. he'll be so grateful that you didn't try.

trust me man, you dont know how many times ive been in situations like that. And yes, JUST LIKE THAT. In fact, it was a 10 yr old was shot 5 times in the chest.

So dont take that position with me.

ill take that position if i want. in fact your personal experience should amplify my example. i dont know the outcome of your cousins accident but either way. if he died, you wish the doctor was more creative. if he lived, your glad the doctor beat the odds. so dont tell me what positions i can and can not take.

wut r u talking about, the kid who was shot was a patient of mine on an ambulance, and no he lived because me and my crew didnt quit on him.

oh-ok i read that wrong but still. you beat the odds then, what makes you not want to try now?

and thats a different situation entirely, this has nothing to do with restrictions placed on an individual. Do you want to try and bend the rules to join girl scouts because you are a guy...go try, see what happens.

oh i always thought dieases restricted someone. maybe you're right--cancer ain't that bad. and i have no motivation to join girl scouts, however, if i did i would try. the program is analyzing how people do in their environment. they know one environment is harder than the next but the truly motivated would not give up. also--who's to say that since you're so close your rank won't bump up?

i really have this inkling that you havent listened to a word ive said
