I posted this under different topic so i moved it to here.

Male, Asian (non-us resident)

GPA (weighted) Average 3.72

(theres no GPA in England, theres GCSEs)
Then I came to the United States.
(junior 1st sem) 3.4
(junior 2nd sem) 3.7
(senior 1st sem) 4.1
Would they see my 3.4 with no sympathy? or an unfortunate struggle from different educational system (england)?

tak215, you have a nice list, but it looks a little too top-heavy with reaches.
As you must realize, your CR score is quite low for some of these schools. You’re an international student (English is not your native language), right? In that case, I do not know what standards apply to the CR and W scores (please tell us if you have solid information about this). Your high Math scores may or may not be enough to offset the low scores. Your grades show a nice upward trend. But, unless your sports awards are major ones (such as regional/national titles or records), your ECs may not meet the expectations of the most selective schools on your list.

Here’s how I see your schools (and I’m including some of the ones listed on your other post, in parentheses):

Probably too selective (unless some of them are very eager for internationals
williams, haverford, bowdoin, vassar, reed, (davidson)

reaches/u
colorado college
(whitman),occidental, (lewis & clark)

match/likelies
earlham
(also consider: Hendrix, College of Wooster)

I’m not familiar enough with pepperdine or santa clara univ to say.

I think you do have a decent shot at getting into at least one of your reach schools, especially if they relax the CR/W standards for international students. Colorado College seems to be hungry for internationals. Recently, their aid packages to internationals have averaged almost the full cost of attendance.

Bowdoin is one of the most selective colleges in the country.

Its Princeton Review selectivity rating is “99” (highest).
The SAT/CR middle 50% band is 650-760 (25% of students score higher than 760, 25% lower than 650).
The average HS GPA is 3.8.
Its admission rate has been only about 18%.

BUT – the good news for you is that it’s an SAT-optional school.
I think your challenge here may be your ECs, not grades or scores.
