Test Preparation

I recently took both the ACT and the SAT and my scores did not turn out too good.
Act (E26,M30,R17,S22)=24 comp.
Sat (R470,M660,W510)=M+R=1130

I did not do much prep with the SAT but for the ACT I took all of the 5 red practice test and still end up doing bad on the test. I have signed up for all of the SAT and ACT for the rest of this year. I just want to get a 30 on the ACT and/or a 1350 on SAT. Please I need some advice.

Update: I have two weeks before my next ACT want to plan out a new method of prep.

I suggest you use the PWN the SAT: Math Guide and The Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar by Meltzer, Erica L. These two books are great and helped me increase my score 200+

Obviously your weakness is reading. Can you identify why?

I can never focus when I read those kind of passages.

My mind kinda just wanders off and I cant focus. I need some help with that which is almost impossible. :frowning:

It is always possible to improve but it might take more than a couple of weeks. For that time frame is hard to change one’s reading capabilities and see immediate results. You should ask for help and embark in a process to help your reading in general independently of the test. If you have the money it would be beneficial to get a reading tutor and if you don’t maybe you can ask for help from one of your teachers or find a volunteer tutor. It might be easier in the beginning if someone helps you organize your effort.

Is English your first language? Has your eyesight been tested? Do you have ADHD or dyslexia or a processing disorder? Any of these can make reading difficult. Rather than taking the tests multiple times, I would try to get to the root cause of why you are having trouble focusing.

I dont have a disorder because I tend to be able to read science passages okay because I find them interesting. English is my first language.

I seem to be doing okay in english not the best but okay, so I do believe that I am able to read english.

I know how to read. I can read new articles all the time comprehend them its just the ACT passages are hard for me and I dont know why
