my SAT Plan?

I took my PSATs this year, got a 165- no prep what-so-ever. Obviously, with studying I could do better on the SATs.

Im using Barron's SAT 2009, and then plan on taking the May SAT. I have a mentor at a college who is scoring my practice tests, essays etc.. Then based on what I get back, I plan on studying over the Summer, using The Blue Book and Barrons 2400.

Does this sound like a decent plan? I would like to get at least a 2000 or higher.

get more prep books. don’t put all of your eggs in the barron’s basket, because it’s not a very good one. Try Rocket Review, Gruber’s, and Maximum, should you decide to take my advice.

^^ Thanks. So a variety of books is better. I can get what you have listed at Barnes and Noble etc. ?

variety isn’t necessarily better, it’s just that everyone has a different approach to the SAT. It took me a while to figure out what worked and what didn’t. I had to sort through some books and pick and choose the tactics that worked. And just because you get a lot of prep books doesn’t mean you will do well on the test. It sounds stupid now, but you actually have to spend time and PRACTICE. Many people just buy the prep books, maybe flip through one of them, and then expect to do great on the test. Not gonna happen. So my advice is: yes, get some prep books, but make sure you spend some time with them.

and yeah, you can get them at your local B&N’s, but I bought mine on amazon, because you get free shipping plus a relatively cheap price.
