Okay. My apps are in. I am an international, and I have 5-6 hours by car to the nearest test center. That was the reason to give my SAT's just a single chance. I've taken SAT II in dec and get 790 math II and 730 physics => okay :D

But jan was the time for SAT. When I saw my scores yesterday I almost cried. 650 math (what?!) 540 CR ( I expected 6something) and 490 W (uhm yeah english is not my first language, but... that?!) 1680

I just wanted to throw this out. You can now begin cheering me.

Hello young person! :) Don't feel bad. Your SAT II scores are awesome. The SAT is very tough when English is not your first language. Your scores can come up! You know what you need to do now...study hard, and you will see the improvement. As you know, many schools still don't care as much about the Writing as the other two sections, so it's great that W is your lowest score. And it seems to me (based on the scores I've seen so far) that the M curve was fairly brutal for some people in Jan, so you should expect a higher score when you retake.

Learn some words, read some books, do some practice sections, and you will feel much better the next time you get your score. Don't be discouraged; just use this score as motivation to spend some time studying every day. I have seen many people who started with your scores who still ended up at their dream schools, and I have also seen many native speakers with lower scores than yours. Be bold, be consistent, and put in the time, and you will be fine. :) Best of luck!

Hang in there. Your SAT IIs are great! Really I'm just amazed that anyone can test in a second language and as well as you did. I could never do it.

5-6 hours by car just to get to the testing center? That's ridiculous- you deserve to be accepted just for embarking on that odyssey to take a FOUR hour test. If I had to sit in a vehicle for six hours before taking the SAT, I would've just slept through the entire test.

Some people really vary in scores based on the test. For me- I've taken the SATI 3 times. First 2 I got the exact same score, last I improved the final by 20 points. Doesn't really matter what I do lol.

the problem is, Jan was the last month to take the SAT for the schools i am applying to. so maybe next year... I will try to apply somewhere in U.K., cos then it will be easier to trasfer. :D
