My SAT scores are officially in

1990: 640 Math, 680 reading and 670 Writing.

I'm looking to get admitted into Berkeley. If my UC GPA is lower than average (3.93), should I retake this? I have no idea what the average SAT is.

with that uc gpa, i say you would need at least a 2100 sat to have a decent shot

Brochure says:

Reading 580-710
Math 620-740
Writing 590-710

But if your EC/leadership or class rigor is weak, then you'll definitely want to take them again.

will it hurt me in any way to take them again? Besides the mental pain of resitting it.

yeah, I read that this morning. I thought that's an awfully wide range of scores though.

my class rigor is, well.. I'm taking every AP class I can, including 5 next (my senior) year. My EC is not amazing but decent, I think: Gay-Straight Alliance, NHS Girl Scouts all through high school, lots of volunteer (beginning this year though), and a few other little things

no, retaking SAT's will only help. They take the highest score in a single sitting.

I would try to beef up the app in any way I could. If you've taken a bunch of APs in your junior and senior year, your rigor should be fine. As for the ECs, make sure you keep up with through both years. And leadership counts, so be sure to be in a leadership position in the ECs, especially if they were started late in your career.
