Okay, so basically I had to send colleges my SAT scores in time for their deadline. One of these schools was Caltech. I sent them regularly (not rushed) because I heard a lot of schools don't like rushed scores. And I also heard that schools won't start reviewing applicants until the end of January anyway. Should I include some sort of letter stating what I did, so they will know where my official scores are (although, if I'm applying online, should I send an e-mail)?

E-mail to ugadmissions@caltech.edu should be fine. It's silliness and nonsense that schools "don't like" rushed scores. (Do you really think we care what size the piece of paper was on that we got your score from that the secretary put into your folder? You'd hope we'd be thinking about more important things than that when reviewing the application, no?) But usually they're a waste of money, that much is true. We'll probably start reviewing apps for real on January 15 or so and the scores will come in time for us to see them with your app, but do send an email about it.

Alright, thank you! :)
