Hey guys, I had some questions. Most of the colleges I am applying to only requires 2 SAT subject tests: most of them prefer math 2 also (I'm taking math 1, us history and chemistry btw). First of all, should I just try hard on all three tests and if my chemistry and us history score is fine, then should I be okay for like ivies, stanford etc? I kinda want to take math 2 but I don't know if I can/should switch to math 2 from math 1. What do you guys recommend me to do? FYI, I'am also taking pre-calc and I could probably self study some topics but then again, Idk. Any recommendations?

Math 2 has a much better curve, unless you are a guru at geometry, then Math 1 would be a piece of cake. But I would definitely recommend Math 2, it isn’t that hard. And it doesn’t matter what tests you signed up for, you can take whatever 3 tests you want, you just gotta fill in the bubbles and what not. So, definitely think about switching to Math 2 on test day. And if you’re hoping to get in Ivy League schools, or schools like Stanford, you’re gonna want to aim high, and get 750 or higher in each of your tests, especially the ones that coincide with your major.

The Math 2 only goes up to pre-calc, and that’s what is on most of the test. And, if you’re gonna study for the Math 2, go out and pick up a Collegeboard math 2 book at the library or a book store, it’s pretty useful.

Chemistry isn’t very hard also, if you’ve been in an AP class, and same with U.S. They’re both just remembering the facts kind of tests. You should do well if you payed attention and were a good, solid student when you took the classes.
