My Sat Subject Tests

Most people usually take 3 SAT subject tests or 2 that are considered hard, like Math 2 and Chem or US History and Math 2, etc.

However, I took SAT 2 Math and SAT 2 Chinese (I am not Chinese). I received nearly perfect scores for both tests, but I'm just worried about the number of the subject tests I took and the fact that one of them is a language test (I heard that language subject tests are often considered supplementary) would lower my chances of getting accepted to a good university.

Would this affect my chances at all?

I am intending to major in Business or Economics if that helps.

A high Chinese score would be considered by some colleges that require or recommend subject tests as unimpressive if you are from a country that speaks the language or are otherwise a native speaker. It would also be an issue if applying for a major for which you need something different, e.g., a math and science are usually required or recommended for engineering at colleges that require or recommend subject tests. Otherwise, a language subject test is fine.

Agree with the above; if the college does not specify which subject tests to take, you can take what you like. If you are not a native/heritage speaker of Chinese, there is no reason not to submit a Chinese score.

@drusba @skieurope Thank you guys for replying.
I am KIND OF from a country that speaks the language (do any of you guys know that Cantonese is the predominant language in Hong Kong?)…

Furthermore I am intending to major in business or economics. I know I can’t do anything about it now, but I just want your feedbacks on how my SAT subject test scores would effect my chances, and basically what I should be prepared for.
Any effect you guys think my SAT subject scores would bring when I am applying to top universities?

You should have mentioned that at the outset. I’ve been to HK, so yes, I am aware that Cantonese is spoken there. At this point, what’s done is done; no use belaboring the fact.
