Hi buddies, I just got accepted in pre-biz econ as a transfer student this coming fall. I know that the first quarter grades are very important for the major application. Can anyone tell me what classes should I take for the first quarter in order to successfully get into biz-econ major? Thankyou so much.

Which of the prereq classes have you taken already?

To sofakingwangsta:

econ 1, 2
Math 31A, 31B
English writing 2 (critical thinking)
MGMT 1A, 1B

Please tell me what classes should I take in order to get in biz econ, and also i want to minor in accounting.

Thankyou

You obviously have to take Econ 11... and Econ 41... prepare yourself!

how are those classes at ucla? [econ 11 and 41]

nothing too crazy, pretty straightforward classes. At least with the professors I took. Just make sure to get the required 3.5 in econ 11 and 101. Get an A in econ 11 and you're all set.

So one can be denied adittance into the BizEcon major? If so, what's an alternative for that student?

As a transfer student if you don't get a 3.5 in those two classes you won't get into biz econ. In that case you can get a regular econ degree, which is not bad either.

a lot of people who get denied admittance into biz econ drop into just regular econ, international econ, or math econ. Others change majors. Some of the popular ones I know are communication or soc.

lauandy_hk, the only classes left you need to take to get in is econ 11, 41, and 101. And yeah, like maxx99 said, you need at least 3.5 average GPA to get into the major. good luck! To minor in accounting as a biz econ major is actually really easy. You only need I think 2 (or 3) extra classes, if you plan your upper division classes right.
