My schedule is easier this year

Last year I took 3 honors classes and 1 AP class, this year I’m only taking 4 honors classes. I would be able to take 4 honors and 2 AP if my counselor let me, but because I’m only a sophomore, I’m not allowed to take them (even though I have all the prereqs done) There’s 1 AP class for freshmen and 1 AP class for sophomores, but this year they’re not offering the sophomore one since not enough people signed up.

This is my current schedule:

French 2
Honors Physics
Honors Pre-Calc
Honors English
Prep for College and Careers (some blowoff class I didn’t even sign up for)
Honors Chemistry
Study Hall (didn’t sign up for this either)

Is it still okay if my schedule is easier this year? I might be able to switch out of the Prep class and Study Hall if my counselor isn’t too mad for some science electives and graduation requirements, but I know for sure there’s no way I’m getting into any more honors/AP classes. Is this still okay?

It’s fine. If your school won’t let you take those classes, colleges won’t fault you.

Yes, your schedule looks fine. What matters most is the classes you take in your junior and senior years. The majority of people in my high school don’t take AP classes until junior year. Colleges won’t hold this against you; some high schools don’t even offer AP classes.

If you’re not able to take them, I don’t think the colleges would blame you!
