Hey guys, I really need to know if this schedule is realistic or not. My parents don't think so, but my counselors and teachers do. Man, they signed off on all of my course selections, signed their initials for recommendation, etc, etc. My parents, on the contrary... don't seem to believe in me that much anymore.

And don't ask me how I got the prereqs... bottom line is, I'm allowed to take these classes and will definitely be taking them if I don't drop any:

Pre-AP English II
Pre-AP French III
AP World History
AP Statistics (reputation for being blow-off class)
AP Physics C (teacher only goes about the mechanics portion)
AP Biology
AP Computer Science (no homework, reputation for being very easy)
Scientific R&D in Engineering (science fair class, reputation for being quite difficult)
Calculus III (community college)

I really do have a strong desire to take these classes. I'm not taking them because I want to look like a smart butt, or get into my dream college (cookies if you can guess what it is!); I'm really excited for this challenge and I actually do pretty terribly when placed in a class that I know pretty much everything about.

As for how I fared last year, I had one AP class (bc calc) and everything else was pre-ap. I was ranked 7 in a class of about a thousand, so I did pretty well in my classes.

So please, tell me if I should take on this schedule next year.

I think it sounds like too much, but if you really think you can do it, you’re the best judge of your own abilities. Can you drop one a couple of weeks in if you want?

If you’re going to take that schedule, you better have little/no social life, have good time management skills, not require more than 5 hours of sleep, and be a damn smart rising sophomore.

Sounds like you have the drive…Go for it! Dont let anyone derail you. You will love the challenge and also, you might be bored if you take courses that are slower

Going from AP Calc BC and pre-ap’s to a schedule full of AP’s, Calc III, and other difficult classes is a large jump for anyone. I would personally drop AP Bio or AP World, as both require a lot of time and memorization.
I’m guessing you want to go to MIT?

I’m trying to get into the University of Phoenix. It is very prestigious and I hope that I can get a six-digit starting salary at NASA/JPL once I earn my associate’s degree.

That’s a hard schedule. I’m a Junior taking only 1 AP. Good luck, Sophomore year will bring a lot of stress. Just manage TIME and you will succeed.

Pre-Calc Honors
English Honors
APUSH
Anatomy and Physiology Honors
German 3
Open Period
Art elective

I am a sophomore too. Your schedule sounds fine. It may be a bit too much. Why are you taking physics and biology in the same year? Here’s what I’m taking:
AP World History
AP Biology
Honors Geometry
Honors English 10
Honors Italian 2
Choir

You should slow down a bit if possible. Colleges like to see academic improvement from year to year and frankly you might not have any APs left to take junior or senior year. Haha well at least not if you went to my school. What I’m trying to say is,don’t waste every AP possible this year if it means your courseload will be too easy in the coming years. But best of luck if that isn’t the case.

Well, I am a junior now, and I took 2 APs last year. I am a good student usually I get all A’s but like 3. Taking two was very stressful for me. Esp. during the time for Ap testing. If you have time to study/do homework/and work in not only your 5 APs you should do it. But also remember, if you are doing this to get into a nice college maybe Ivy…colleges don’t only look at how many APs you took but also at how well you did in them but also with all the other extracurricular you participated in. They want to see if you got all your good grades buy studying all night, or by studying for a while and participating in an activity or the other while. GOOD LUCK!
