make sure u dont stray off your degree plan & you should be alrite. I don’t know all the classes in your plan but sometimes there are pre reqs for some classes so plan them a semester ahead and know what those courses are. Overall, your schedule is average…not so easy or difficult…looks like you’re trying to get basic education req. out of way. Just a thought…you can also clep some basic ed. courses such as psych.

Thanks for the input! I’m attempting to get some courses out of the way and plan to take calculus over summer. I’ve heard it’s ridiculous at UT. The ultimate goal is to get in to McCombs. After my first semester I have a 4.0, (psychology, philosophy, astronomy and german). Originally I was a psych major! So, now I’m trying to pave the way for the business school. Hence the easier load, to maintain a high GPA!

If you feel I’m making a mistake or should explore other options, please let me know!

I agree that your schedule is pretty average. I would recommend taking all the rest of your core classes at a CC over the summer unless you enjoy taking classes that you could have taken in high school at UT for thousands of dollars.

Dr. Trejo (not sure if he is Ph.d) is the best professor for microeconomics at UT Austin bar none. Yes, his class is different than other micro classes and yes it is a tough subject but the professor is amazing.

Take advantage of his office hours and get to know him. Hardly anyone goes to his office hours and I did so I was able to get a lot of one-on-one time with him which helped me in the course.

As for Art History, Dr. Ann Johns is a good professor as well. She makes the subject interesting and worthwhile. Just hope you get a TA which grades “easier”.

Not sure about your biology class, but your schedule seems okay IMO. Good luck this semester!

Here’s a question. I’m about to graduate HS this June and was contemplating taking some core classes at my local community college…However I think that my senioritus may stem deep into the summer. I’d like to be refreshed with a period of low brain activity in my summer before starting UT. Is there anyway I can just “not” sign up for freshman classes and take them in the summer of 2012 at community college?
