My school corrected my fafsa

in early august because I filled it out wrong(my first time). turns out I overestimated my income and they fixed it when I sent in my tax info for verification, and they also gave me an 11 K grant as well as part of my package.

Well, then I got an email saying I was now eligible for a cal grant since my updated info made me eligible. So I filled out the verification form(as a transfer) and got cal grant A which they sent to the school. It's for 10 K

I'm just curious if anyone can give me an idea of how my financial aid will maybe look now. Do you think they will take away my 11 K grant and just give me the 10 K Cal grant meaning I lose money?

I would ask them but their offices are closed until the 7th.

It depends on your cost of attendance & your expected family contribution. COA-EFC=eligibility for need based aid. Your need based aid cannot exceed your eligibility.

Some schools use equity packaging, where they have a certain target number they use for packaging. In this model, even if there is need based eligibility, the school’s grant might get reduced/eliminated because of the Cal grant.

The only way to know will be to ask the school’s financial aid office.
