My School is not processing my Fafsa

Hello,

So I have applied for fin aid in 2014, and submitted all my necessary paper work. It really is a long story, so I’ll copy and paste what I sent to the financial office of my school.I am sending this e-mail in today in regards to the status of my Financial Aid of Fall 2014.
"I have turned in all required documents in October 2014, and was told that processing time is between 4-7 weeks. I continuously check my financial aid portal to see if there are holds. I was told to see my Financial Advisor. I did, as a matter of fact, 2-3 times. I came in during November and I have been told that I have already turned in all required documents and that the representative whom had helped me previously had just forgotten to take out the old documents I sent in, resulting in a delay in processing the documents. They told me to wait 2 weeks or more as they have supposedly fixed the “error” in misplacing my documents. Fall semester ended and I have yet to see a resolve in my problem. I decided to pay a visit to the office again on the first day of class for spring 2015. I was told the same exact thing and that my file is literally on the advisors desk and it will be processed very soon. Wait another two weeks. It is now February 2015. I turned in the required documents in October 2014. This has become a great inconvenience in my education. I am limited in my abilities to acquire need school resources.
Please understand that I have paid a couple of visits to the office to inquire about anything else I can do on my part, and each time I was reassured that I’ve done my part and it is within the fault of the department. "
Concluded with my contact information.
I have visited a couple of times, left many messages and sent emails and it seems like they are ignoring me! Please let me know if any of you has run into the same situation or know what to do next.
What are my next steps?
Thanks in advance.

I’m curious. What aid do you want to get for this academic year? And how have you been paying the bills without the needed aid? And lastly, if you started college in the fall, why did you apply for aid in October? That seems very late to me. Most students apply for aid meeting a spring deadline.

ETA…I see you are a community college transfer student. Even so, your financial aid applicatio documents should have been completed much earlier than October!

Where are you attending college? In CA or elsewhere?

Go in person. Make an appointment to see your financial aid officer. Take copies of everything you have submitted. Do this ASAP.

Are you a U.S. citizen? If so, you would get the Direct Loan amount ($6500 for sophomore, and $7500 for juniors), and any amount of the Pell Grant to which you are entitled.

What else are you hoping to receive?

A student should be able to have his/her aid processed at any point in the year. I can sympathize to some extent if the OP has really had such a runaround. I can tell you from experience that sometimes people don’t do their jobs. It does happen … you have to take the bull by the horns and go to the next level of management. Schedule an appointment with the associate director or director of the financial aid office. Bring copies of any correspondence you sent and received.
