My school is screwing me over (or the district, apparently - LAUSD)

I have a medical condition that is going to force me to either drop my first or sixth period class. My first period is a regular class, but my 6th is an AP, so I am going to stick with the AP and drop the regular class. My school is OK with this.

So what's the problem?
In order to get credit for the 2nd semester, obviously I have to take the class. I can't take it at school. So, what are the options that they are presenting me with? Only two: Take the class at a community college (online or in person) or take it for summer school.

By taking the community college class, I need to take a full years worth, even though I have already completed a semester and received an "A." Also, it is unfair to make me have to take a college level course... quite a jump from a regular class. That is why I opted to take a non honors or non ap, and they expect me to jump right to the college-level?

I can't take the class in summer, because I will be traveling.

So I asked if I could take a high school equivalent class (online), and they said that the school district doesn't allow it, and they have no authority to override.. They never have and never will. They may allow it for next year, and send in the required paperwork so the school can recognize the class, but definitely not for this year. I need it this year because when I apply for college next year, my transcript will look better with a 3rd year of this class.

What am I supposed to do? My mom called in but she gets mad at me whenever I ask her to push harder. This ****es me off so much. Help me please

Well... its really up to the school. Many school districts, including mine, don't recognize online courses for school credit. I'm sorry about your condition, but having two options on the outside seems more than fair. Life can't turn out to your dream ideal. I'd take the community college course.... it seems like your only option if you're set(or medically fit enough) to travel.

I can travel and am fully functional, it's just that I need to administer medicine and would not be able to attend class. I know life isn't fair, but why can't they just accommodate me? I can fully understand private schools denying online credit... but public schools? It's just frustrating.

Are you talking about Spanish 3? Sign up and take it at WLAC in the winter semester. Not having a grade for that class won't make a big difference.

Wow. It's simple.
Take a full year CC class or don't travel.
Stop giving yourself pity because you have to take a class an extra semester so you can travel. CC classes are never that much harder than HS courses.

yeah just take the college class (it won't be taht bad) and i'm pretty sure it'll show up on your transcript as a Pass or Fail
i know you have to do extra work but it's not as bad as it could be
