My school keeps charging me!

Hi everyone,

I paid my tuition (in full) for this semester on August 29.

I just got a bill for another $1,000 that they are adding onto my original tuition, nearly two weeks after I got my first bill.

Can they do this? I am so frustrated! I guess they can do whatever they want, really.

Hmmmm what are they calling iT?

What for? Are you taking more classes? Or, your FA was reduced? You need to compare your two bills, line by line.

Tuition NR Grad DE.

???

I just want to pay my bill, once, in full. This is a huge problem because when I received my first bill I cancelled my loan since I was able to pay it. Now I have to uncancel my loan.

No nothing changed, I didn’t add classes or anything. Two other girls in my program are experiencing the same thing.

Also this additional $1,000 isn’t on the orginal bill or have it’s own bill. There is no additional bill or anything it is just a charge on my account.

I’m just guessing.
Tuition NR might mean non-resident tuition. Are you attending a state school. Have you submit the certificate of residence to school?

You need talk to school.

Yes I will try and call the school today. I am out of state so I understand there may be additional charges but they for them to charge me this two weeks after they administered the first bill is unfair to me; are they just going to keep charging me randomly throughout this whole semester? I am not upset that they are charging me the $1,000 I am upset they are charging me two weeks later.

I am also frustrated because prior to the semester beginning I called the financial aid office several times to get estimates of tuition. The estimates they gave me were similiar to the tuition I paid, and now they are just charging me more.

What is the school? If you post or PM me, maybe I can figure it out. Or you can call them & ask! There are many reasons things get posted late … but rather than start listing them, I would prefer to try to figure out your particular charge & address why that may have been added late.

Wait … is this your field experience? Schools often charge a separate fee for that, and it doesn’t always get posted in a timely manner because the department has to notify another department, who will post the charges when the report of everyone who needs to have those charges assessed is received. Long-winded, I know … suffice it to say that it isn’t all as easy as it seems like it ought to be. There is a lot of communication that has to take place between various groups. YOU, on the other hand, are responsible for knowing the costs of your program. If there are charges associated with your program, you need to be on top of those.
