Ugh, so I’ve been begging my school to fix some errors on my transcript for weeks and they just blew me off every time. Today I went to ask again and they were like “oh sorry, we already sent your school report…” I had a really strong upward trend going on with my GPA with a progression in my grades to all A’s senior year and junior year. But my dumb school put my algebra 2 class, in which I got a B both semesters, in my junior year. So now I no longer have any upward trend, nor do I have a math class listed at all for my sophomore year. I’m extremely annoyed because my GPA is really low for my school due to some problems my freshmen and sophomore year, and I worked my butt off for all A’s in the most rigorous course load junior/senior year, and my school messed it up. I was thinking about writing this in my additional info section on common app, also this isn’t the only mistake they’ve made on my transcript. Should I do this?
Have your parents talk to the school. It’s time they weigh in on this.
I agree with Erin’s Dad. Have your parents in the principal’s office tomorrow. That is unacceptable. Make sure they fix ALL the errors. This includes the school calling or emailing all of the colleges you’ve applied to, cc’ing you and your parents and fixing their mistakes.
My school says nothing can be done because my transcript has already been sent on commonapp?? Is this true?
Yes, from what I understand, once a document is submitted online via the Common App, it can’t be re-submitted. However, there is such a thing as fax, e-mail and snail mail!!! Have them send a corrected transcript to each school immediately. If they agree, then I would contact your regional admissions counselor at each college to let them know to expect it.
I spoke with my principle today. He said he would get it fixed right away and apologized for the fact some of the faculty were not willing to cooperate. Thanks for the help!
