Today, I went to the guidance office at my school and asked about PSAT scores. They said that they would be distributing it in January, along with some seminar to help us "interpret our PSAT scores."

Then I was like "but did you guys get them back yet?" and the person was like "Oh, you want it back now? Sorry we can't do that or else people won't come to the seminar."

Is anyone else in a similar situation? Any ideas on how to get my score now? I don't want to go to some sat prep advertisement. -_-

fortunately, one of my friends found out a way to see our scores a lil earlier ;) but unless you are in with teh counselor, then theres nothing you can do =[

just try to keep your mind off it till january; a month'll go by just like that! (and besides, you wont know whether u made national merit until sept.)

Ew! ^ you should definitely check collegeboard or ask your counsler so you'll be prepared. idk... i know that i was more comfortable finding out at home among my fam.

When you took the Preliminary SAT®/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT® ), you took an important step toward college. Now take the next steps with My College QuickStart.

Not seeing this year's PSAT/NMSQT ?

Enter the access code from your official paper score report. If you haven't received your report yet, ask your counselor when it will be handed out at your school.

My daughter received e-mail notice this morning that her PSAT score was available. We were able to access it using only her CollegeBoard username and password.

I got an email as well but I still can't see my scores without the access code

My email said

Dear PSAT/NMSQT® Test-Taker,

Your 2008 PSAT/NMSQT scores—and much more—are now online. To log in, you'll need the access code on your paper score report, available from your school counselor. If you do not already have a FREE College Board account, you'll be asked to create one. Doing so usually takes less than two minutes. Get started now.

it seems as if people who recently signed up for a quickstart account are able to get their scores...people who have pre-existing accounts will find it necessary to have the access code from their paper score. the quickstart page warns against signing up for a new account... Does this coincide with anyone else's experience? Has anyone else figured out a way around this problem. It certainly does not seem fair that some people are able to get their scores online and others are not, using the same methodology.

^ Yeah I already have an account because I took it last year as a sophomore and now I can't see my score without the access code.

I would think they would let the people who already have an account to see their scores not the other way around! Makes me kinda wish I didn't sign up for quickstart last year...because I didn't even care about my score last year.

Yeahh I think my school is doing that too. I want to know before break though..

Of course, nobody else in my school cares so they don't have any pressure to get it to us before January. It just comes as a surprise to many people when they get their scores..and many scratch their heads and wonder when they took such a test...and what the numbers mean. haha it's not a big deal in my school AT ALL since most ppl take the ACT later.

Yeah that collegeboard online thing is totally pointless. I thought it meant you could access your scores without a report on dec.15!

Oh for God's sake!!! Finally got the report from school with the acess code and wanted to log in and see the recommended colleges etc...

now I get this message
"Take the next steps toward college with your free personalized planning kit, which will be available very soon. Please check back in a few days to take advantage of all the benefits it offers."

no more circle graphic asking for the access code - nothing!!! AAAAGGGHHHH!

My son's school is keeping them until January so they can "celebrate everyone's scores!!" He was so mad that he immediately complained to the principal. They said maybe they "might" post the access code or post everyone's score by their student ID in the commons. I don't even think that is legal.... Why not just send out the scores???? He was 194 last year, and running about 215-220 in practice tests. We're in Texas so 214-217 is the magic cutoff number (215 last two years).

If no results this week, it will be a tough holiday break. Scholarships are his ticket to a real education, not just local college.
