My Science Dilemma

So my composite score was a 35 and my breakdown was as follows:

English - 36
Math - 36
Reading - 36
Science - 30 (damn science)

Do I retake in order to get science up? I usually NEVER do this well in math, and I feel like if I take the ACT again I could get science up (I've gotten 36s on 2 of the practice tests in the Red Book), but math might go down quite a bit.

Also, I was planning that if I got a good enough ACT score, I wouldn't take the SATs at all. Based on this score, would this be a wise decision for schools like Yale, Princeton, and Georgetown?

Thanks!

35 is a very strong score, but competitive schools do look at all the categories. i guess it depends partly on your major. if you are going to be going into humanities, then an average science score shouldn’t hurt that much. the thing with the act opposed to the sat is that colleges always take the highest composite score, not the highest section scores. there’s not much room to improve on a 35, but if you are confident that at least your composite score won’t be going down, then it’s worth a shot.

jo, take the sat, can’t hurt
35 is real good,
taking it again probably won’t hurt
remember that at the top schools, even a 36 is not a lock.
better to be have an ACT score of 30 with legacy or some other hook, instead of a 36 with no hook, at Yale and basically all the top schools in the US. Just the way it is.
I wish you good luck

why not take several APs or SATII instead of another ACT if you want to show your ability in science.AND! after all, science section ACT is just a reading test…
35 is really a strong score!!!
Cong!

you would truly be an idiot if you think that 30 in science will lower anything chance-wise in your application.

You’re crying about a 35? K then.
