So, I am in Spanish III Honors right now as a sophomore, and I really, really, really dislike it. I have an A, but I know that there is no way I will be able to get a solid A in AP next year (maybe A-/B+) not only because I have no motivation or interest, but because Spanish is my worst subject.
I am strongly considering stopping Spanish after this year, but I know that top colleges prefer four years of language. However, I would be replacing it with AP Physics 1 (in addition to AP Biology), a class I have much more interest in and one I’m pretty sure I can get an A in. Also, at my school, this class is a prerequisite for AP Physics C, which I want to take in 12th. If I took Spanish next year, I would be forced to only have AP Physics 1. I have no room in my schedule to take both Spanish and physics at the same time.
How difficult is the Spanish SAT II Test for someone who has only completed through level 3? Is it possible to get at least a 630 and place out? Is this a good idea at all? Is it a deal-breaker for colleges? I really hate taking Spanish and don’t know what to do…
