im just wondering if im in the majority or minority with my status not changing. at my high school only four or five kids have heard of about 20 that applied. is this the same for every1? or am i on the boarderline because i havnt heard?

you are most likely borderline bc you havent heard

FrankBob, I'm not at all sure you're "borderline" because you haven't heard...at least I hope that's not what it means. My son's status hasn't changed as yet either, and he has a 2200 SAT and 3.9 weighted GPA. (Only 3.4 unweighted, though.) We don't expect bad news from Penn State, but in this climate I guess one never knows.

What major?

im in for a 2nd Education major. but plan on changing to Liberal Arts after admission

they may not have addressed your College group yet.

My status hasn't changed but the "we're on vacation" message is gone.

same no more vaca message but no status change

After 4 months, my status has changed.

Now, instead of a vacation message, there's a message from a PSU student telling me how much she likes it there and how she doesn't know what she wants to major in but thinks it might be something in business. There's an e-mail link to contact her if I have any questions.

So I e-mail her.

"Something in Business? Ohmygosh! Me too!!!! NOW TELL ME IF I GOT IN"

Wow, I almost had a heart attack when I saw that my son's status changed, but it finally did. He got a similar message (from "Eric") saying how much he likes it at PSU. Will post again with the final result.

I noticed my son's status had changed when I checked this morning. It said a decision had been made and we would hear within 2 weeks. There was also a link to a current Penn State student (from Westport) who loved the school. When I checked back again a few minutes ago, there was a different student to email (from Baltimore). Is everyone seeing this - or just applicants who's decision has been made?

He's in. Congrats.

Plaid Freak: "Sanford and Son", right?

It would be cruel and unusual if they gave you names and e-mails of PSU students in your major, hometown and session and then rejected you, right?

Clicking the "find more students link", I am hopefully guessing that I:

Was accepted
Got into my major at Smeal
Got Summer Session

We'll see. Good luck everyone

Congrats to all of you (Plaid Freak and Altmom congrats to your sons) on the wait finally ending.
Plaid Freak, I noticed the subject heading for your post and loved the Sanford & Son (I think?) reference! :D

Thanks, but it's too soon for congratulations, I think. Sure it would be cruel and unusual to do that to rejected students, but mistakes happen, so I'd rather not assume he's in. An example: my son received a letter from Ohio State congratulating him on his admissions and asking him to consider the honors/scholars program there. All well and good except that he never applied there. They sent the same letter to several others, as well. So that's why I figure we'll just wait and see.
And thank you for getting the Sanford and Son reference, momonthehill and reddogarchie, especially you, reddogarchie, since you're a youngster.

mine finally changed yesterday

I agree with Plaidfreak...no celebrating here yet. My D's status changed as well...but we'll just wait (some more) to see if she got into the major and school she applied to. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!

mine hasnt changed yet, and my stats are pretty high (1990 SAT, 3.9 UW), compared to HeliMomNYC's son

i'm guessing they dont work today...i mean, they're not robots...but i wish i had some kind of idea soon

My Status Changed today!

Good luck FrankBob.
They have to accept you.
You have a posse of over 11,000!
