I gave all my materials to my guidance counselor to send in mid-October. I asked him if he'd sent everything (transcript, secondary report, teacher evaluations) on Oct. 31 and he said he was "getting around to it". Now, Cornell says that they have not recieved any of that. Is anyone else in this situation, or am I the only one?

When does your first quarter grading period end? A lot of counselors wait until 1st quarter grades are out and final, since many colleges to see them. The counselor will just have to send another mailing if they do it in early Nov. You've got LOTS of company.

Just send it again. No problem.

I would call them explain your situation. Last time I called they were very understanding.

1st marking period ended Oct 26. I don't know, I'll ask him again.

also, if cornell haven't received it yet, it may be that they are still busy sorting things out... although if they were sent on time, cornell should at least have your transcript and such.

im missing 2 teachers rec's and im positive that my teachers sent those on time.

my first marking period ended october 22nd and my GC sent my transcript out october 30th and....I HAD A MEETING LAST WEEK AND SHE NEVER SENT MY FIRST MARKING PERIOD GRADES! hahaha i was so happy! they were my worst (with my hardest classes) but still, i was worried. so now they MAY call and ask for 1st marking period, but maybe not. it was a miracle.

as far as them receiving recs etc, if you think about it, they have maybe a total of 3 mailings for each student. transcript etc, and then two separate recs. so that is sorting out and putting into appropriate files etc a total of 5 documents (common app and supplement) and then updating it all on your self service and then shipping it out to admissions for review. that is a LOT of work and they are hopefully finishing up the majority soon, soo...just remember, that is a LOT of stuff to do. for each applicant, sorting all those documents! ouch. im not jealous.

Does cornell need to find out my first quarter grades to make a decision for ED? can't I just send them the mid year report in jan after the decision when i get deferred ?

they may call and ask for them. maybe not.
