and i mean really suck....

like high 500's and low 600's suck

will i be rejected?

and i mean really suck....

like high 500's and low 600's suck

will i be rejected?

not necessarily.

lol i forgot to take them and got a likely letter

Mine weren’t amazing…like 7something span, high 6something lit, and 560 Bio!!! But i got into NYU w/ a likely letter and waitlisted at places like Northwestern and WashU…test scores (esp. subject tests) aren’t everything. As long as you take a tough course load, have a good gpa, solid EC’s, and write creative essays you have as good a shot as the people w/ high SAT II scores. Good luck, and maybe you could try taking them again…

Hey my scores were high 500’s and semi 600’s and I got a likely letter. Honestly, I think that the scores are a factor, but other aspects will really overshadow that part of your application. Good luck!

really? i am also asian and had 2 C grades and 4 B grades during my junior year. Everything else on my transcript is an A. I am ranked 9/997 and I haven’t heard anything back from NYU. Should I be afraid?

SAT: 1970
ACT:28

my friends with worse sats and grades have gotten likely letters…but they’re hispanic

yes. be afraid. be verrry afraid.

but seriously, to the OP, I got bad SAT II’s as well (like as bad as yours) and I was accepted.

And to mh, there is nothing you can do about it now! good luck!

Mine pretty much sucked too. One was a 570, another was a 580. But my Math was 700…and I still got accepted. :)

Mine sucked too. But I got LSP. :D

i was rejected ED with those subject test scores.

690 lit, 690 math 1, 720 math2. Into nyu and wash u

subject tests arent a big deal.

write an amazing essay

focus on the regular sat

Agh. My SAT and SAT II scores are sky high, 2300’s and SAT II’s 790’s, but my gpa sucks. And I haven’t gotten into anywhere great yet. Only waitlists.

So yeah, concentrate on a rigorous course load, and try to get A’s in them. Test scores you have second chances to improve upon. GPA isn’t the case.

like i said, i didn’t take my subject tests, but i also got a 2300. i have extensive experience on the debate team with success, so im thinking that helped. likewise, my gpa isnt so great, however they show a clear upwards trend. screwing around underclassmen years put me at ~80/780 but i climbed up to 31 in the course of 1.5 years. Got vandy, nyu, and usc… waiting on a deferred to RD decision from stanford.
no school looks at one individual part of the application, so i wouldnt stress it too much.

They look at the overall package. Subject test scores are a small factor of that.

NYU doesn’t really put that much weight on them, if overall you’re still a very strong applicant you’ll probably still get in even without the SAT IIs. Or if you have a lot of money. lol they don’t even require SAT IIs for Tisch and some Steinhardt majors!
