this show makes me feel sad. i saw this episode where this (really hot but totally spoiled) blonde and brunette decides to throw a bash at the local Hard Rock Cafe. they rented out the place, invited bands (linkin park, ...), and pretty much threw a crazy party. estimated cost, the brunette said around 100 Gs. cant imagine their parents would throw up that much money, besides spending hours arranging everything including hiring djs and mainstream bands to perform. i mean, each girl's wardrobe and cosmetics probably cost more than my parent's house (cost 180Gs, market value now around 240Gs). through out that episode, the blonde drove three different cars, including the new mercedes convertable. wow. i really feel cruddy.

That brunette was pretty. And the blonde snobby.

I didn't have a sweet sixteen... I just decided to eat pizza and go to the movies with my friends just like any other days.

And the parents' house was probably more than that.

i meant my house... :(

yea, that brunette was gorgeous. and so nice too. too bad the blonde decided on a similar dress. mtv played her like a snobby daddy's girl (like she was). did you notice how the blonde tries on the dresses that the brunette rejects(like the flower dress)?

that show scared me. I couldn't believe the excess! It kind of ****ed me off that they asked for a cover charge and said they felt good about donating the money from the charge to breast cancer research. I know, how about next time instead of a $100,000 party, you just donate THAT money to cancer. geeeeez.

happy birthday

They were both ugly. But that Mercedes SL55 at the end was badass.

dude..for the money these chics have..i expect them to be hot..if they cant be hot with all that money ..then they suck..oh yeah..btw they werent hot..cute..not hot..and what was upwith the blondie's hair..it was horrrible...

i want some money..

it kind of ****ed me off that hey were wasting money on such a stupid thing..it wasn't even their sweet sixteen..and then they're like they are going to give the money they make to breast cancer..dude u wasted more money throwin the party..why dont u just give that money..chics were weird..

oops vegan i just realized u already said that..hehe

I dont really care what they did with their money. Ok they have cash, why are you all ****ed that they used it? So what. But they def werent hot..eh cute? maybe. Nothing special with them imho.

it's their money--they are free to use it how they wish. it's all a matter of perspective. it doesn't seem that extravagant to them--that's their world.

I could not believe that when I saw it. Mind you I almost never watch MTV, I just happened to stumble across watching this. I was busy the entire time trying to figure out if somebody there was famous and that's how they had the money. In the end the girl did not even really seem to enjoy the party that much!

Does anybody know what the parents did for a living?

Rich people are so strange. I just don't understand some of the stuff they do.

I didn't do anything for my 16th, and I definitely survived.

If I earn lots of money when I get older I don't know how I would treat my kids. If I could afford to buy them designer clothes, Mercedes, and throw $100k parties why not? The only problem is that I come from a middle-class family where having such things was not possible and I don't want my kids taking a wealthly lifestyle for granted and looking down on others who are not as fortunate as they are.

thats a good point, justin

agreed, justin - my kids will not have such ridiculous extravagancies. Now obviously, I would want the best for my children, and will give them everything I can afford, but things like that are just ridiculous for a child of 16 years, and certainly cannot lead to realistic expectations of the world.
A girl I went to school with from preschool through high school had one of these parties for her 18th birthday - Newfound Glory playing in her backyard, the whole works. I know the parents mean well (her parents are nice people), but it's just pointless decadence for a girl that is one of the snobbiest I've known.

dears...it wasn't their sweet sixteen..it was just a party..

but to celebrate their sixteenth birthday, long past for the blonde (she was driving) and unknown of the brunette (riding shogun). mtv just needed some juice

Personally I think their parents are to blame a) for ENCOURAGING all of that, and b) for not teaching them ANYTHING about charity, humility, etc.

oh yeah ..when the blondie told her dad..get me my shoes!!...and he just said ok..i was like wow baby..

why dont you gay ass girls invite us men to your sweet sixteens!

i went to my friend's sister's sweet sixteen and it dominated.

Nah, we do invite boys, just not gay ass ones...

But, hey, who knows why you don't ever get invited. :)
