My teacher is telling us to write a letter to the college of our choice

Will it really make a difference if I send a letter to Princeton or not? He says that they'll get a record on me and it will improve my chances of getting in. But I really don't see how that would work... Has anyone done something similar in the past?

If so, what should I say, how long should it be, and who should I address it to? The class requirement is only around two paragraphs, but if I'm going to actually send it I want it to be pretty long.

Demonstrated interest (visiting, letter writing, etc.) has no impact on admission decisions. If Princeton is your first choice then tell your interviewer. If you do choose to write a letter I would recommend keeping it short.

Do you know what the address is, or where I should address it? I found a bunch of conflicting results.
