My teacher let me see the recommendation she wrote for me, and it's terrible.

<p>Here are the OP’s grades. The earlier grades as well as the OP’s being female hurt her at LACs, which have harder admission standards for women than for males because it’s harder to attract males to LACs.</p>

<p>If, though, the OP continues to have strong senior year grades, those deferrals may turn into acceptances in the spring.</p>

<p>I think that’s “and” not “or”. If the kid really is a psychopathic arsonist it’s not “libel” to point it out even if it makes him look bad.</p>

<p>It’s an easy out to blame the teacher for deferrals or rejections. The letter may not have been the deciding factor at all. But the notion of adding another very positive letter to any outstanding applications seems like a good idea.</p>
