Okay. Yes I did get rejected. There are hundreds of others who did get rejected too. But I think we should all be proud of ourselves. Now I know some of us are still venting/depressed but you totally shouldn't. Everything happens for a REASON. If we didn't get in, it wasn't meant for us to get in. I keep track of some members on UChicago CC (no not stlaking status LOL) and you guys did get into some awesome schools and are VERY talented. Some of the things you guys did are amazing and honestly blew me away. I'm like, "damn are these students or philanthropists" LOL. Some members that I remember talking to include motion12345 and some others. I totally know that we ALL we go onto to change the world and still have the curiousity for learning/exploring. UChicago isn't the only institution in the world that have intellectually curious students.

So I'm done. This thread was created for my own venting and to try to put a smile on some of you guys' faces. Cheer up guys......we're the class od the decade!! SEN10RS!

So feel free to vent, comment, post what other schools you got into, etc. I want to wish luck to everyone waiting to hear back. We should all be hearing from our schools by next week....Anyway let the discussion commence!

nice knowing you all. I’m going 2 go die now.

^Why would you go to die? Getting rejected from UChicago isn’t the end of the world. Again, the college admissions process is imperfect and the fact that you got rejected reflects nothing on your worth as a person. As well, so what if you don’t get to go to UChicago? So what if you go to a state school or a “worse” private school than UChicago? You know where Milton Friedman - the only reason why the University of Chicago is actually known around the world - went for undergrad? Rutgers. Not some highly priced and glamorized private school, but the good old state U - Rutgers. Where did Socrates go to college? Oh, right. Where did Einstein go to college? Oh, right. Don’t be bitter about your rejection and, most importantly, don’t go commit suicide.

@beatfreaks: This was a good idea and a really nice thing to do. It’s too bad that college applications can’t quantify small but meaningful acts such as this, because based on the class and kindness that you’ve shown on this forum, it seems that you definitely deserve a spot at UChicago or whichever other great colleges you’re aspiring to get into.

Anyway, I just wanted to commend you on your post. People generally don’t get praised enough for the little acts of kindness they do. Haha. Sorry that UChicago didn’t work out for you, but like you said yourself, I’m sure you’ll get into some other great college and have a wonderful experience there! :)

I must say, I was shocked reading the RD thread. There were so many amazing students rejected/waitlisted that are very competitive for even ivy league institutions–and obviously UChicago.

Good thread idea. Congrats to everyone admitted, and congrats to all of the other deserving students who are absolutely amazing. I have no doubt we’ll all go on to do great things in college and in life. :)

motion12345, i read your comments on the official decisions page about your relationship w/ the regional rep. any details you’re willing to share?

And I forgot to add, this was a good idea beatfreaks. As well, good luck to you wherever you go.
