My Top 15

I’m a junior, live in Connecticut, take a pretty challenging course load (AP U.S., AP Lang. and Comp., Honors Chem., Honors Integrated Math III and college prep Spanish IV) and have around a 91 average through my freshman and sophomore years and about the same this year through one quarter. I’ve narrowed down my list to 15 schools. I’d appreciate any knowledge about the business programs at these schools as the only one I’m familiar with is Penn State. In addition to that, just any good general knowledge about the schools- positive or negative. I’d also appreciate any other suggestions of schools I may have missed. I’m mainly looking at large universities on the east coast and the midwest east of Indiana. And yes, I left U. of Virginia and Ohio State off intentionally. Any information is appreciated.

Hi, I am a student in the Villanova School of Business. I highly suggest VSB. It is one of the top business programs in the country and I love everything about it. The professors are amazing and the quaility of education is amazing. I can answer any questions you have, just ask me!

In regards to your second choice, Syracuse, I would avoid it at all costs. I was offered a full scholarship to the Whitman School of Management. I visited the school, (when the business school was just opening) and was very disappointed. The school seemed dark and gloomy (just my opinion). Also the professors who I met with were dry and distant, I felt as through they did not want me to come to their school and that they did not want to be there. Also, Syracuse is a COLD and boring city in the middle of nowhere.

just out of curiousity, why isnt uconn on your list? great school/business program, and instate tuition!

Depending on what you're looking for, I would put UNC and Bucknell a lot higher than 8 and 9 on your list. You may want to consider Washington & Lee, William & Mary and SUNY Geneseo too.

He said he wanted large schools, though. And VU might have provided an incident that happened to him in regards to syracuse, but don't forget the fact that villanova and syracuse are both big east and are sports rivals, which could sway his opinion a lot!

SUNY Geneseo and William & Mary aren't that much smaller than Villanova, but also has Bucknell on his list which is half the size of Villanova. I agree if he wants a sports culture school that SUNY Geneseo and W&M aren't a great fit, although, except for basketball, Villanova isn't that sports prominent either.
