my tour is tommarow!

I'm sitting in a hotel room in south bend and my campus tour and information session is tommarow. Hopefully I'll get the legendary "nowhere else feeling" everyone talks about! Its snowing pretty hard here, but I'm from Michigan so I don't mind. It will be funny to see if there will be any californians freezing haha.

its a great tour.

I hope you enjoy it!

Oh I will. Hopefully I can get some nd gear too even though people will be repulsed by it at my school. (mostly uofm fans)

i would take only a limited amount of money into the bookstore

I walked in there with quite a bit of cash... and ended up spending it all

Enjoy yourself!

wow that was amazing... I kind of wish I hadn't gone bexause now if I don't get in I'll know what im missing. All I can say is if you are an nd student or alumni don't take it for granted.

Do not buy anything at the bookstore, at least not clothing. Novelty items are fine, but any clothing that is sold in the bookstore can be bought from third parties for a fraction of the cost. At Christmas I got two Notre Dame hoodies from Finishline for $30 total. What are those, about $45 in the bookstore?

Sam's Club on Grape Road also has quite a selection are they are priced much more reasonably.

Wow, I just visited for the first time yesterday (3/29) and it was really amazing. As soon as we got on campus I knew that ND was perfect for me. I went with my uncle who graduated from there years ago and he was telling me about all the crazy things they used to do. Just the atmosphere of the place was something special. The other universities that we've visited are nothing compared to ND.

Now I'm really scared, because I really need to get my ACT/SAT scores up (I'm a junior, so I at least have a little time). At least all my other stuff seemed to fall within what the admissions counselor was saying.

I did buy a t-shirt there and it cost me $18. It is a really nice shirt, though. I can't wait to wear it when I go back to school next week!

I totally know what you're saying, urcuzinvinnie, if I don't get in next year I think I'll be crushed!

me too, I want to go to ND sooooo bad

I swear if anyone could put down in words the feeling you get the first time you see Notre Dame it would win the Pulitzer. There is no describing it.
I can't wait for tomorrow.

I know its amazing, I just wish it wasn't the only place that had that feeling. Then I could be happy somewhere else. I always thought I was going to UMich, but now going there would be like finishing in second.

Good luck Holly09, hopefully I'll see you there in two years!

^^^^^ their motto of "Nowhere else but Notre Dame" fits your feelings perfectly

I guess I've always taken that feeling for granted. My dad lived in South bend until he graduated from Notre Dame and his parents lived there until they passed away a few years ago. Grandma and Grandpa both worked for the athletic department at the university... grandma was in the office and grandpa drove buses for the teams. We have pictures of me with my family in the football locker room... in the lockers, on the big ND on the floor, standing in front of the "Play Like a Champion Today" sign. That was the first place I ever took a plane to.... There's nothing quite like flying in and seeing that dome glistening out the window. It's a place like no other and I really hope I get the privilege of living there for four years.

true Tim.
but I'm talking about actually describing why we like it so much and everything it encompasses in detail.
"Nowhere else but Notre Dame" is good just not detailed enough to explain to other people who just don't get it lol. but it is as good as we mortals will ever accomplish I feel.

its weird...you guys all feel the way i have all high school and i just wish more people knew what i was talking about....most people at my school hate nd or just dont get my obsession...they think its weird that i came back from the boston college game smiling and happy even after they had lost....though i actually was very sad....

I was at the BC game too! Awesome time being there, though not so happy faces after the game.

I think I'm with Tim on this one. If you have to explain it, they'll never understand it.
Nowhere else but Notre Dame.

Oh I know. I just wish I could share it with them(and get them off my back). But God only chose a few us for ND.

thanks for the "I hope I see some Californians freezing" in the opening paragraph.

We don't freeze when we go to other places. We just experience "the real world" for a change.
